Present: Rick Levinson, Mary Buchanan, Betsy Kirkpatrick, Chris Lagarde,
Absent: Brad Fregger & Deborah Aker
1. Meeting brought to order at 7:25 P.M. at Rick’s. Minutes of
August 26, 2004 approved. The General Membership Meeting minutes were
also read. There was no September meeting.
2. Speed Bumps – The Board agreed to pay a consultant to discuss our
plans to amend the existing bumps so that they are effective. Mary
will contact someone. Once we are sure the plan is sound, she will
contact Lone Star to come and do the work.
3. Change of General Membership Meeting date – The Board decided to
review the Covenants & By-Laws to see if any other changes need to be
made before a vote is called to move the membership meeting date
ahead one week (4th Sat. in September). The Board will review each
document over the next few meetings (pages 1 – 4 of By-Laws for the
Nov. meeting). Chris will get a computer version of the documents to
make any possible changes.
4. Workfare days – The Board set Sat. Nov. 20 and Dec. 4 as Workfare
days. Various jobs that need to be done were suggested. Mary will
contact Angelo Mitchell, an arborist to see if he can come and start
trimming trees that are too close to the Royal Garden Homes.
Depending on that cost he may then start trimming dead wood out of
other trees on RRPOA property and limbs hanging over Concord Circle
that are hit by large trucks.
5. Burgess Utility Box/wall – Boyd has agreed to go ahead and do the
cement work at that utility box. Due to the small size of the
project, the Board was unable to get another cement contractor to
come and give a bid so we are doing the work with only one bid. It
is felt that Boyd’s bid is very fair.
6. 1826 Entry planter vegitation replacement – Betsy noted that
several of the new plants in the entry planter have died. Chris will
purchase 5 bags of compost and 10 bags of mulch from Geo Growers to
augment the soil in both the entry planter and our Radiance planter
on the Workfare days.
Meeting adjourned 8:00 P.M.
Next Board mtg. – Mon. November 15, 2004 – 7:15 at Rick’s
Respectfully Submitted,
Mary Buchanan
RPOA Secretary
